A farmer, farm wife, mother to two farm kids, and advocate for all things agriculture. My husband, Levi, and I live and work on his family’s 5th generation farm where we raise corn, soybeans, cattle, and country kids. Beck’s. These four things were my biggest takeaways from touring the @beckshybrids headquarters. Legacy - a true family run, faith based operation. The family history is well documented and was very cool to experience! The strong values @beckshybrids has built their business on are leaving an incredible legacy. Hospitality - I’ve never felt so welcomed by complete strangers! They picked us up at our most local airport flew us on their beautiful falcon aircraft to tour the facility, fed us a great lunch, and flew us back home safely. A once in a lifetime experience I won’t soon forget! Transparency - they showed us EVERYTHING! There were no secrets and no parts of the processing facilities they didn’t open the doors for us to see. From the germ lab and green houses to the processing floor and high yield research plat - we saw it ALL and ALL of our questions were answered! Innovation - did I mention they have ten greenhouses and are planting and harvesting research hybrids every day of the year? And a high yield research plot aimed at not only growing high yield corn, but doing so to find the limiting factors so farmers can continually improve. I could say SO much more about our day with the Beck’s family, but I’ll leave you with this: there’s a lot of noise in today’s world and spending the day with a company truly built on a solid faith foundation was the biggest breath of fresh air!
In all fairness, I used to hunt with him and I usually shot bigger deer than he did. Now I’m home with the little kids while he’s out shooting even bigger deer and that’s ok! He’s making core memories with Stetson and for that I am thankful 🦌🩵 They’ve had a pretty big year out hunting! When you live in Nebraska and your growing season is full of 90+mph winds, multiple hail storms, AND the occasional tornado… you are very happy to get to harvest and still see green in the corn leaves, stalks standing strong, AND yields that don’t disappoint. We contribute a lot of these things to PROVEN40 from @pivotbio. It’s funny how when the corn is getting the nitrogen it needs ALL season long, it just thrives - even despite the storms! #pivotbiopartner and PROUD of it!! A crowd favorite year round, not just during harvest! Air fryer veggies: • chop whatever veggies you have (I did potaotes, yellow squash, and carrots) • add a little olive oil (I love herbs de province olive oil from Le Claire Olive Oil Co) • season well • air fry until crispy! I usually overfill the air fryer so I do two 20 min cycles and shake a few times Sweet + Spicy Chicken Thighs: This recipe is from our dear friends @kristen.bramble 😍 • coat boneless skinless chicken thighs in olive oil • dip in seasoning mix - y’all know I measure with my heart but rough measurements for 6 chx thighs are: - 2 T brown sugar - 1 heaping T rosemary - 2 tsp salt - 1 tsp crushed red pepper • grill on high until 165 internal temp! I love to serve meals like this on my large @crowcanyonhome enamel platter 🤩 ENJOY!! These chicken thighs are life changing.
