Our herd thrives on their summer pastures. Taking our kids along with us to check the cows is one of our favorite things to do all summer long. #sponsored @zoetiscattle The quality family time is a huge perk, but the lessons our boys learn from livestock is the real root of why we make it a priority for them to tag along.
Levi grew up on this farm and spent his childhood doing these same exact things that our boys are doing now: watching and learning about the best ways to care for crops and cattle from his dad and grandpa. The best way to prepare the next generation to preserve the land is to start teaching them sustainable animal husbandry and hard work ethic now. Our kids are Born of the Bond. Born of the Bond means including our kids when they’re young and praying they develop a love for this lifestyle as they grow up. Everyday I am thankful we get to raise our kids out here.

Stop. At. The. Corners.
Do I need to hash this out again? It’s farm safety week so I’ll go ahead and hash away…
I know what you’re thinking… fields are being harvested so you think it’s safe to drive through those corners on gravel roads to save some time… WRONGO!
STOP 🛑🌽
If you hang onto anything from me I pray it’s this... when the corn is tall, STOP at the corners.
Even if you don’t have a stop sign... STOP at the corners.
Even if you know the other direction has a stop sign... STOP at the corners.
I don’t care if you’re walking, riding a bike, driving an ATV, driving a vehicle, or any piece of farm equipment... STOP at the corners.
Corn is TALL and it blocks all visibility at intersections. Watching for dust flying up during the day or headlights when it is dark just isn’t enough... STOP at the corners.
NEVER trust that whoever might be driving from the other direction will stop. TOO many people have been hurt or killed in accidents at blind corners during the peak of growing season. Levi’s aunt almost died when she was a little girl because someone RAN a STOP sign during growing season! That’s why I say don’t trust that other vehicles will stop!! Just pleeease always STOP until every last field is harvested!
Life is precious and being in a hurry just isn’t worth it y’all.. take the extra time and always AWAYS stop at the corners.
It’s farm safety week, so let’s make our best effort to spread the word!

Farm life, best life.
Day ONE of #harvest2023 is a wrap. One random breakdown, but all in all a great first day working out the kinks.
Also, it’s farm safety week - stay tuned for more on that and stay safe out there farm friends! 🤠
Buckle up, it’s harvest time!
I really do enjoy harvest season. But it’s bittersweet because we go from this sweet spot where the farmer had a little more free time as irrigation winds down to full throttle harvest mode. I’m excited but also in denial. Come back best friend I need a few more days!
Have you started harvest yet?!

We may have slightly over committed on the mums. BUT for good reason.
Ever been to a farm show? All the booths nicely landscaped for a short three days. V pretty. The plants often times just get left so it’s been my personal mission to go around and collect them from booths that don’t want to take them home! We did work this year and got enough for all the teachers and volunteers at the Pork Place to take some home! Also laughed so hard that my abdominals were definitely sore the next day 🤣
# no mum left behind
Highly recommend a mother/son date to a farm show. 🚜🫶🏼 Not just any farm show… the largest irrigated working farm show in the world!
Husker Harvest Days 2023 did NOT disappoint! Stetson and I had so much fun and learned so many new things! There’s still one more day and I promise you won’t regret going! Thank you @farmprogress for putting on such a great show!
Tell me your favorite #HHD2023 memory in the comments!
