Ingredients
Dry ranch mix:
1/4 cup black pepper
1 1/2 cup parsley
1/2 cup garlic salt
2 T salt
1/4 cup granulated garlic
3/4 cup granulated onion
2 T dill weed
To make actual ranch the traditional way:
1 cup Mayo
1/2 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup sour cream
2 heaping T dry ranch mix
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp garlic
To make a healthier version:
2 heaping T dry ranch mix
1 cup Greek yogurt (or to taste)
Lemon juice to taste/consistency preference
Instructions
- Mix all of the ingredients into your preferred container of choice.
- Add to any of the following uses to make your cooking that much better:
- Replace any recipe that calls for a ranch packet with 2 heaping T dry mix
- Season crock pot beef roast
- Season grilled chicken
- Use as dip or dressing
Notes
- I use a quart-sized jar.
- The dry mix doesn’t have an expiration date. They are all dry ingredients/seasonings that stay shelf stable for a long time. I usually make a double batch of the dry mix once yearly!
- T = tablespoon
- t = teaspoon
- Yes, the recipe is correct. It calls for salt, garlic salt, and granulated garlic. Just trust me on this one.
- I have never substituted granulated garlic for garlic powder. The granulated garlic will serve as a thickener when you make actual ranch with the mix. If you use garlic powder, it might not thicken nicely when the liquid ingredients are added.
- I chose not to add powdered buttermilk because dairy doesn’t always love me back 😉
